English proficiency tests

Important notes:

  • The test must have been undertaken within two years of application, however, they may be used for entry until the next immediate semester intake.
  • The required scores stated in the following table will satisfy Curtin’s minimum English requirement for Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses. Some courses have higher English requirement, refer to Courses with higher English criteria.
  • Changes to the IELTS (Academic) requirement for Engineering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees by coursework (except Double Degrees) for a trial period of three years, effective from Semester Two 2018. Refer to the English Competency Equivalents Chart for the approved English Language Proficiency test scores.
