Master of Financial Planning

This course provides you with a range of specialist finance topics. You’ll study the principles of finance and explore the financial system, studying financial institutions and markets, the banking sector and non-bank financial institutions. You’ll study the Income Tax Assessment Act and its associated acts and regulations in detail. Topics in personal finance, estate planning, portfolio management, insurance, superannuation and retirement planning are also covered in depth.
Professional recognition
This course is accredited by the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) as an approved postgraduate qualification leading to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification assessment. This bypasses the CFP education program required of those with undergraduate qualifications in financial planning. The course is on the financial services training register as meeting the knowledge and skill requirements of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) Regulatory Guide (RG) 146.

A bachelor degree in a field other than financial planning. Applicants with a non-business background may be required to complete up to four additional foundation units.
