Postponing (deferring) your studies
If you have been offered a place at Curtin, you can choose to defer the commencement of your studies for up to 24 months (the common 12-month deferral is also known as a 'gap year'). You must submit your application to defer once you have received your offer, and no later than the specified date for acceptance of that offer. You will receive an automated reply to confirm your deferral.
There are two ways you can submit your application to defer:
- Electronically through e-student in OASIS:
Login with your Student Identification Number, which is located on your Letter of Offer. Your initial password is your date of birth in the format ddmmyyyy. For example, if your date of birth is the 26 July 1989 your password would be 26071989.
- Telephone +61 8 9266 3073.
If you have been awarded a scholarship, visit Scholarships @ Curtin for information on deferring your scholarship.
