TAFE
TAFE can be a stepping stone toward university if you don't qualify for university straight away. On completion of certain TAFE studies, you will be granted matriculation status and assigned a Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER).
Curtin's minimum entry requirements for students who have studied at TAFE are:
- Certificate IV;
- English language competence; and
- Subject prerequisites specific to the university course.
In many cases a Diploma (or higher) and subject prerequisites are recommended.
TAFE students who complete a Diploma, Associate Diploma or Advanced Diploma related to their chosen university course may also be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), whereby you may be able to complete your degree in a shorter period of time.
The University Admission Centre can tell you which TAFE units or other tests are acceptable.
