Leave of absence
Following enrolment you would normally study continuously, however we understand that because of unforeseen circumstances you may wish to take a break from study. As such, unless you are an international student on a student visa, you are entitled to apply for Leave of Absence from your course.
To apply for Leave of Absence you must complete an Application for Leave of Absence Form [.pdf] . You will need to submit the form to the Head of School for your course prior to the withdrawal deadline (census date).
International Students
If you are an international student on a student visa, the conditions of your visa preclude you from taking a Leave of Absence. You may suspend your studies in exceptional circumstances only. We recommend you contact your Divisional Student Service Office or student contact office or the International Student Adviser on campus to find out whether you are permitted to suspend your studies and how you can commence that process.
