Studying off-campus
Can't make it to a campus? Living in a remote area or another country? Curtin offers some flexible alternatives.
Distance Education
A large range of Curtin's courses are available to study via distance education. Many are available to study fully externally, while others have some on-campus requirements. Graduates will earn the same qualifications as if they had studied on campus.
All learning materials for distance education units are supplied electronically through the University's online learning environments and the library's e-Reserve. If you are unable to access the online materials, e.g.
you may live in an area of regional Australia or a country where access to the Internet is intermittent or
unreliable you may apply to the Manager,
Distance Education for special consideration by providing the necessary supporting evidence. If approved, the
learning materials will be provided to you in an alternative format.

Visit Curtin's Learning Support Network (Distance and Open Learning) site for more information on distance education.
Open Universities Australia programs
Many of Curtin's courses are available to study off-campus through Open Universities Australia (OUA). OUA is jointly owned by seven Australian universities and allows you to study units online. OUA graduates earn the same qualifications as if they had studied on campus.
One feature of OUA is that there are no entry requirements, so you can apply to study regardless of your educational background.

Offshore programs
Through Curtin's long-standing expertise in the provision of international education, and its partnerships with institutions in China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mauritius and Vietnam, it is possible to undertake all or part of some courses in these countries. You can choose to study full-time or part-time.
Offshore students study the same subjects and use the same Curtin materials as students studying the course on campus. They also undertake the same exams and are assessed against the same levels of performance.
