Making the decision
Making the decision to further your education with a higher degree by research is a significant step in your professional life. Curtin offers world-class facilities and the establishment and growth of our research programs has been the result of our strong, strategic partnerships and the recruitment of exemplary research leaders. Our staff and students are involved in more than 50 major research institutes, as well as 11 industry-focused, cooperative research centres.
National and internationally recognised research
Curtin is one of only a handful of universities in the world to produce two recipients of the prestigious Distinguished Contributions to Science Education through Research Award from the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST). The University has also been honoured as one of only five new international academic partners of the US-based Alcoa Foundation’s Conservation and Sustainability Program. We were the sole Australian research organisation with the expertise to fill the program’s aims.
Dedicated research support
The Graduate Research School (GRS) provides administrative assistance to higher degree students and provides support throughout your candidature, including thesis preparation and examination, supervisor registration and scholarship information. Contact the School to begin your enquiries about your postgraduate by research studies.
Curtin drives innovation in key sectors, such as mining business and health research opportunities through powerful collaborations with academia, industry, government and community groups. Enhanced learning environments, with widespread access to technology and research spaces, respond to the changing needs to higher education delivery.
Our campus will continue to grow, innovate and provide the highest quality research facilities in the future. The Curtin 2030 Master Plan will transform the Perth campus into a culture hub, connecting the University and the broader community in innovative, collaborative and enriching new ways.
