Kalgoorlie
Kalgoorlie is an historic mining town in the goldfields region of Western Australia, about 600km east of Perth. The town was originally established in 1893 when gold was first discovered there, and today it remains an important centre for the state's booming resources industry. Just outside the town is the Superpit - the largest open-pit mine in the country.
It makes sense that Curtin's Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) is here, delivering courses in mining engineering, exploration geophysics and more. Co-located on the same campus are our Centre for Regional Education (CRE), the Centre for the Management of Arid Environments (CMAE) and Vocational and Education Training Centre (VTEC).

Back to topMalaysia
In 1999, the Sarawak State Government invited Curtin to establish a university in Miri, Sarawak on the north west coast of East Malaysia. This campus was the first foreign university campus to be set up on the island of Borneo; a reflection of our reputation for excellence in South-East Asia.
Miri boasts modern infrastructure, excellent hotels and restaurants, comprehensive local and international banking facilities, multi-storey shopping malls as well as traditional stores and simpler craft and produce markets selling local specialties. Originally an oil town, Miri is now more renowned for its natural attractions and is becoming increasingly popular as an adventure/ecotourism destination. Miri enjoys warm equatorial weather with plenty of sunshine all year round.
Every aspect of our Sarawak academic programs, including course materials and examinations, is identical to the courses offered in Perth.
