How do I qualify for University?
To be eligible to study at Curtin, you normally need to have done the following:
- Graduated from high school; and
- Scored at least 50% in TEE English or English Literature; and
- Obtained a sufficiently high Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER), and satisfied any prerequisites or special requirements for entry into particular courses.
TER cut-off scores vary from course to course. To find out the cut-off score for a particular Curtin course, see the Course Overview.
Prerequisites
Many of the courses at Curtin require students to have a knowledge of certain subjects and these entry requirements for courses will vary considerably. The Course Overview provides specific information, including prerequisites and preferred subjects, for all courses offered at the University.

English Competence
No matter what course you choose to study at Curtin, you need to have demonstrated you can communicate competently in English. For Western Australian school leavers, this means a score of at least 50% in TEE English or English Literature. Refer to the list of approved English qualifications[.pdf] for all other qualifications that will also satisfy Curtin's English requirement.
