Not sure what TEE subjects to choose?
If this is you, don't get too worried. You're among thousands of other high school students who don't know exactly what they want to study or have no idea what they'd be good at.
Choosing your TEE subjects might seem pretty tough, but the most important thing to remember is actually quite simple - pick the subjects that interest you! With this in mind you should find yourself well prepared for the university course you eventually choose. If you have any concerns, talk to your school guidance counsellor/career advisor and they should be able to provide helpful advice.
If you need some inspiration, try out the Career Planner. It will suggest some careers that you may be suited to, and the university courses that relate to those careers.
Prerequisites
You may already be aware that some courses have prerequisites. Prerequisites are TEE subjects you need to have studied in order to get into a course. For example, the Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) has TEE Chemistry and Applicable Mathematics as prerequisites, and the Bachelor of Surveying has TEE mathematics as a prerequisite. If you already have a uni course in mind, check out the Course Overview to see whether there are any prerequisites for that course.
Desirables
Some courses have 'desirables'. Applied Geology, for instance, has no prerequisites, but TEE mathematics is desirable. That means you don't need to have studied TEE maths to get into the course, but it is recommended that you do, because it provides you with solid background knowledge. In some cases, if you haven't studied a desirable subject, you may be required to complete a short bridging course to improve your knowledge of that subject. The Course Overview lists the desirables for each course.
