If you find yourself struggling with your studies, there is plenty of support available to help you stay on track and achieve the marks you want.
The Learning Centre’s Pathfinder Program is designed to help you make a successful transition to university life where you will learn about personal academic focus, motivation, building on strengths, defining goals, overcoming learning blocks, managing challenges, and trouble-shooting problems.
The Learning Centre also offers academic writing support programs designed to enhance the performance of both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their course of study. The PowerPlus Writing Program seminars cover sentence structure, punctuation, grammar, syntax, and writing powerful sentences for academic and professional success. The PowerPlus Essay Program seminars provide guidelines, formulae, hints, and tips for successful essays writing. Both these programs are also available online.
PC Champs is a program run by Curtin Volunteers and is aimed specifically at mature age students to help improve computer skills and enhance your confidence. Through the program you will receive one-to-one assistance from volunteers who are current Curtin students.
Communication skills in business
The Curtin Business School Communication Skills Centre provides a free support service for all students enrolled in Curtin Business School.
English language support is available for students who have English as an additional language. If you feel you can benefit from English language support, specific language units are available.
