Admission criteria varies from course to course, so for specific details, search for your intended course. Remember, admission criteria are minimum requirements for a course and the qualifications and experience of past candidates have usually exceeded these.
English language proficiency
Regardless of what you choose to study, Curtin requires you to demonstrate competency in English. If you completed an undergraduate degree in Australia, you meet the requirement. For other qualifications that meet our English language proficiency, please refer to the list of approved English qualifications for postgraduate courses.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Depending on your previous study and the course you want to apply for, you may qualify for Credit for Recognised Learning (CRL). Curtin grants credits for units within your course that you may have previously completed through study or work experience. If you are eligible for CRL, you may receive exemptions from doing part of the course. You will need to lodge your completed credit transfer application, along with the necessary documentation, at the time of applying to Curtin.
Vocational courses and credit arrangements
We have agreements with some vocational institutions to offer specific credit for some courses. You may be entitled to credit toward the completion of a related Curtin course.
